In this video we discuss the development of the Web Analytics industry with Web Analytics Demystified Senior partner, John Lovett.
John starts by sharing with us his thoughts about the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit Washington DC 2010, about how very large companies such as eBay and Dell are using data to drive forward their business (and sharing this information). As an example, Dell shared how they build up the structure of a data driven culture and how they have used process to be able to build a testing program that relies on data analytics and metrics to move the business forward.
He provides insights on how to make websites more relevant for users by presenting information intuitively and customizing user experience based on past and implicit behaviors (Minute 2:12).
As a member of the Web Analytics Association board of directors, John speaks about their work to foster the field and make sure that we have consistency in the field and assure the longevity as an industry (Minute 3:41).
